Trick chooses to use non-beryllium copper because it is non-carcinogenic and produces excellent thermal conductivity.
Nickel and silicone enhanced valve seats create toughness against our MICRO-PVD coating on valves. As the engine is initially run, a nikasil type matrix forms on the seat surface. The nickel silicon matrix is very hard, but it is comparatively ductile. The copper composition of the seat acts as cushion to deter valve bounce.
